Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast to Support Five Local Children’s Charities
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — February 17, 2024
The“Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast” is back! For the 16th time over the past twenty years, the Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville invites the community to enjoy a pancake breakfast and support the work of Charlottesville’s most outstanding children’s charities. “We invite the public to come to Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church for a delicious fun-filled pancake breakfast,” said Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast Chairperson, Wendy Cooper. “This year proceeds will go to support five amazing local children’s charities.”
WHEN: Saturday, April 20, 2024, Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church, 105 Lankford Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22903. Plentiful free parking in the church lot.
TIME: 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Tickets available for just $8 from friends of our beneficiaries, or any Kiwanis member, and at the door.
Book of ten: $80; Golden Spatula Donation: $100
Silver Spatula Donation: $75; Bronze Spatula $50.
Children under six eat free!
Proceeds will benefit: Benjamin Hair Just Swim for Life Foundation, Central Little League, Ronald McDonald House , Salvation Army, and Community Bikes. BH-JSL funds certified Water Safety Instructors to conduct learn-to-swim programs to improve water safety in the Charlottesville/Albemarle area. Central Little League provides area boys and girls with an enriching, challenging, and exciting baseball and softball experience. Ronald McDonald House allows families who have children getting treatment at UVA Hospital to have temporary lodging nearby Salvation Army invites Charlottesville youth to attend the wholesome and exciting Camp Happyland each summer. And Community Bikes promotes environmentally sound transportation, recycles bicycles, and makes cycling accessible.
In addition to the all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausages, strawberries, coffee, juice, and water, there will also be a “Silent Auction” AND the appearance of our perennial favorite “Celebrity Pancake Flippers” who will amaze and delight the young and the young at heart.
All money raised at Kiwanis events is returned to the community in club service projects mainly benefiting children and youth. The Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville has been “Serving the Children of the World” since 1922. See our website: http://kiwaniscville.org
