Tree Steward Training Class Registration

Friday, June 14 - 8:00 AM

Registration is now open for the Fall 2024 training class of the Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards.  The program will consist of a combination of online training sessions and field activities.  The field sessions involve walking on and off trail in forest settings, planting trees, and removing invasive plants in local parks and woodlands.  The class has a 15-week duration beginning August 6 and ending November 16. Because we ask that all Tree Stewards be willing to volunteer at least 25 hours a year, this class is open only to those who live in the area covered by Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards: the city of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Greene, Fluvanna, Nelson, and Luisa.

Tuition for the training is $160 and includes textbooks and other training materials, a Tree Steward carrying bag, and your membership dues through the end of 2025.  The class has a maximum of 32 students to facilitate the best field training possible.
NOTE: Please go to the CATS website to view the complete class description and syllabus and to follow the registration link to Eventbrite.
