The Multiple Faces of Dementia

Tuesday, July 16 - 1:00 PM

Dementia is a general term for loss of memory and other mental abilities severe enough to interfere with daily life. While Alzheimer's is the most common type, there are many different kinds. Attend this workshop and learn the differences among various types of dementia: Frontotemporal, Lewy Body, Mixed Dementia, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer's. You will also learn what to expect when a loved one is diagnosed with one of these conditions and how best to care for them. The speaker will be Carolyn Powell Chavez of Visiting Angels; she has over 20 years of experience working with the elderly, those suffering from dementia, and their families.  Chavez earned her degree in Psychology and Management Sciences from Framington State College in Massachusetts.

Free and Open to the community.
