Celebrate Historic Garden Week with a visit to Monticello’s nursery, set within inspiring display gardens of historic plants in their full spring glory, and find your favorites and more for sale in our nursery. Enjoy guided garden tours and ask our knowledgeable staff your gardening questions

Join local gardening expert Fran Boninti for her popular “Tool Time Tips” talk. From clothing to hand tools to tree extractors, Fran will share opinions on her 40-year experience with tools, good and bad. Hear ideas on repurposing things you already own and finding great gifts for gardening friends. This talk is appropriate for novice to experienced gardeners.

Also presenting is Southern Exposure Seed Exchange’s Ira Wallace who will discuss her inspiring new book, Grow Great Vegetables in Virginia. Learn tips and techniques for growing garden-fresh salads, vine ripened tomatoes, crisp green peppers and dozens of other delicious edibles year-round in your Virginia garden. Ira will cover soil building, planting dates, succession sowing, mulch, managing water, selecting the best varieties and more for abundant harvests across the state.
