Social Dance: Short film screening

Thursday, December 7 - 5:30 PM

SOCIAL DANCE FILM (4 min)

A meditation on current social interactions in public space and social media. The film documents a performance experience at Mad Bowl Field on the UVA campus. Audience members communicated with the performers solely via their mobile devices, creating a dance without the use of eye contact or spoken words. Researching questions of belonging, integration, isolation and the significance of connection in our socially changing landscape of technology.

After the screening of Social Dance there will be an immersive experience for the audience to try out the movement score with each other and their phones.

This is a free event and registration is not required.
