Make a monster of your own! Come join Second Street Gallery on Saturday, October 7, 11AM - 1:30PM, for a Shadow Puppetry and Creature Creation Workshop led by exhibiting artist, Tania L. Yager.
The Creature Creation workshop explores the fundamentals of shadow puppetry through making various shadow monsters and creatures, just in time for spooky season! Learn the basics of shadow puppetry from professional Puppetry Artist Tania L. Yager of Twisted Heart Puppetworks. In this class Tania teaches the basics of design, construction, movement, lighting, and staging. Students will be taught how to create both mono and multi-articulated shadow puppets with consideration for multiple types of paper materials, where to place joints and rods, and easy cutting techniques. This class is encouraged for beginners and experienced artists that just want to make and have fun.
For ages 10 and up. Children under 13 should be accompanied by an adult. Perfect date for parent/kid time!
The workshop is available at $20 SSG members / $25 non-members. This fee covers workshop instruction and access to all workshop materials for the activity.
The workshop is limited to 25 attendees and will take place in person at Second Street Gallery.
