The Rivanna River has been a source of escape, excitement, and enjoyment for more people than ever this summer. Now it is our turn to give back.
Please join the Rivanna Conservation Alliance (RCA) in caring for the Rivanna River and other local waterways through the Rivanna River Round-Up. This river-wide trash and tire cleanup event takes place on Saturday, September 26th at locations all along the Rivanna River and nearby streams.
Due to COVID-19, this event will be socially-distanced and largely self-directed, but RCA will provide logistical support, guidance, and supplies to assist you.
You can choose to participate on foot, collecting litter along a trail or in a stream, or you can paddle a stretch of the Rivanna River collecting trash and prying out tires along the way. Cleanups on foot will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and most paddling cleanups will launch between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. and end in the mid-afternoon.
