New Works Festival

Friday, February 1 - 8:00 PM

Join us for two short student plays and one student devised work at UVA Drama's NEW WORKS FESTIVAL in the Helms Theatre.  Adult themes and content.

THEY’RE STILL FRIENDS  by Savannah Hard, directed by Savannah Maive. Two friends try to reconnect after a traumatic event that neither has come to grips with.

PLAY IT COOL by Ibrahim Muhammad, directed by Tori Meyer.
Daniel finally gets a date with the girl of his dreams, but video games and a guy who seems to keep dying gets in the way.

I'M GAME directed by Jessica Harris.  At their last gathering before going their separate ways, six high school friends get together after graduation and begin playing The Game of Life. As the game progresses, they begin to question just how much control they have over their life path, and begin to ponder their roles in The Game.

The New Works Festival is supported by an Arts Enhancement Grant from the Office of the Provost and Vice Provost for the Arts.

Tickets are $5.00 and  go on sale January 15, 2019.  Full-time UVA students may receive one free ticket if reserved at least 24 hours in advance of their desired show date.
