Madison Karten presents her Distinguished Major Voice Recital on Saturday, March 28th at 3:30pm in Old Cabell Hall. Madison is a fourth year double majoring in speech pathology and music in the performance concentration. In addition to private voice study with Pamela Beasley, Madison has performed with the University Singers as well as Spectrum Theatre and First Year Players. Madison has enjoyed her involvement in student theatre from performing on stage to working as stage manager as well as vocal directing for Spectrum Theatre's production of Company and First Year Players' production of Music Man.
Last year Madison made her Italian debut with the Bel Canto Institute in Tuscany as well as received Honors recognition at the states level of the Virginia NATS competition. She has also had the fortune of singing in the Martin Katz masterclass hosted by the UVA Department of Music. In 2017, Madison placed first in musical theatre and received honors recognition in classical voice at the Virginia NATS competition.
Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA's historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda. Parking is available in the central grounds parking garage on Emmet Street, in the C1 parking lot off McCormick Rd, and in the parking lots at the UVA Corner.
