Literacy Volunteers Virtual Training

Thursday, October 8 - 10:00 AM

Staff at Literacy Volunteers are excited to announce that we have adapted our Tutor Training so that we can offer it virtually. Our last tutor training was held in March and we are eager to train a new group of volunteers who can start tutoring immediately.
In October, we will offer training for new volunteers through a three-part series of Zoom meetings and online modules. Staff will train you on how to tutor an adult one-on-one in the current pandemic climate.
October's training will be offered on Thursday and Saturday mornings. When you register, you can select the dates that work best for your schedule.
After completing training, our Program Manager will meet with you to discuss the type of student you'd be most comfortable working with. Most of our current volunteer tutors are meeting with their students through online platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp, or FaceTime. Others are meeting outdoors, in-person, at a safe social distance. However you choose to tutor, we can help you get started making a difference in a student's life.
