The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities is "to offer families a refuge, a place where they can find comfort, as they face one of life’s most unimaginable challenges: caring for a child who is seriously ill."
The Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville will donate proceeds of its Fifteenth Annual Dogwood Pancake Breakfast to the Ronald McDonald House in Charlottesville. RMH-Charlottesville offers hope, support, and love to families struggling with children’s illness by offering a “home away from home.”
“For countless families, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Charlottesville becomes the home they never thought they would need,” stated Rita Ralston, executive director of Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville. “Where there is a sick child who needs specific treatment at UVA Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House is open to welcome and comfort families in need. We are delighted that Kiwanis has stepped up to help us answer the call in this community." https://rmhcharlottesville.org
“We invite the public to come downtown for a delicious fun-filled pancake breakfast and then enjoy the always spectacular Dogwood Festival Parade,” said current Kiwanis President, Eric Lamb. “We are proud to join with the Ronald McDonald House Charlottesville in making sure the most critical needs of our children and youth are addressed,” he added.
In addition to the all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausages, strawberries, coffee, juice, and water, there will also be the appearance of our perennial favorite “Celebrity Pancake Flippers” who will amaze and delight the young and the young at heart.
