Born in Calgary, Alberta, he is a giant of Canadian Folk music, having been compared to the great Gordon Lightfoot. Called Canada’s finest singer-songwriter by Rolling Stone’s Dave Marsh, James won a 1994 Juno (their Grammy) for best Roots Music Album, with his release “My Skies”. His newest album “Second Hand” was released in 2022, to excellent reviews. With an international following, James plays venues from large festivals and concert halls, to intimate folk clubs.
