In-Form: Contemporary Improvisation

Friday, October 11 - 6:00 PM

Join Playback Theatre Virginia for a workshop and demonstration on a unique form of improvisational theatre that focuses on storytelling. Playback Theatre is built upon the convergence of true stories from an audience and the improvisational/acting skills of the performers. Many different forms of expression may be used, from a variation of dance theatre to more traditional acting, to bring out the heart, the dreams and the humanity in each story.

The In-form workshop series takes place on the second Friday of the month and hosts a rotating roster of professional theatre artists teaching various forms of contemporary improvisational theatre. No previous experience is necessary to participate, but pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, contact Brad Stoller at 434.961.5246 or email bstoller@pvcc.edu.

Additional workshop dates are Nov. 8, 2019, and Jan. 1, Feb. 14 and March 13, 2020.

Takes place in the Maxwell Black Box Theatre in the V. Earl Dickinson Building on PVCC's Main Campus in Charlottesville.
