Immigration: Plight of Migrant Women

Thursday, February 20 - 6:30 PM

Charlottesville NOW hosts UVA’s Sarah Corning, who will present her research on migrant women in transit. She went to Mexico’s southern border to gather the experiences of women fleeing Central America in the hope for refuge. From the harrowing conditions in their home countries to the hope—and hazards—on their way to the US border, these women are on a mission, and their stories and determined spirits can help us steer toward humane immigration policies.

Come join the discussion and learn how you can take action with NOW’s campaign to Unlock the Future for Women and Girls.

Free and open to the public. Refreshments.
