During this unprecedented time, those incarcerated face special challenges without the usual support and resources provided by volunteers and visitors. Thankfully, Chaplain Joseph Varaksa is still able to provide spiritual support, inspiration, and motivational materials by going into the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail in accordance with strict precautions for the health and safety of all concerned. Although Chaplain Joseph is not an employee of ACRJ, his role has been deemed “critical” by ACRJ Superintendent,, Martin Kumer.
