This series, presented in conjunction with Ragged Mountain Running & Walking Shop, will feature a special guest speaking about their experience with nature. This month’s speaker will be gardener, historian, and author Peter Hatch who will be presenting “A Gardener’s Life”: A telling of stories and experiences over his 38 year career.
Please bring folding chairs, water bottles, and sun protection for this outdoor event.
Speaker Bio:
Peter J. Hatch is a professional gardener and historian with 38 years of experience in the restoration, care, and interpretation of historic landscapes. A celebrated author of four books on the gardens of Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, where he served as Director of Gardens and Grounds for 35 years, Hatch has lectured in 38 states on Jefferson and the history of garden plants. Presently, he gardens and botanizes from his home on Lickinghole Creek in Crozet, Virginia, travels to promote his latest work, ‘A Rich Spot of Earth’: Thomas Jefferson’s Revolutionary Garden at Monticello.
