"Evolution of a Black Girl: From the Slave House to the White House" is actress, author and educator Morgan McCoy’s riveting one-woman show that takes the audience on a dramatic journey from 1600’s Africa to present day United States through the stories of twelve distinct characters who collectively weave a rich history of African-American women’s experiences. Iconic figures such as Rosa Parks, Coretta Scott King, Michelle Obama and more are portrayed along with fictional characters that illuminate the strength, resilience and achievements of African-American women despite obstacles that stood in their way. 

A talk back session with the artist will follow the performance.

Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. Takes place in the Main Stage Theatre, located in the V. Earl Dickinson Building.
