The City of Charlottesville and UVA Community Credit Union present Charlottesville's Grand Illumination on Friday, December 3 from 5–8 pm at Ting Pavilion!

The Grand Illumination Holiday Concert will bring exciting musical acts to the pavilion stage including the American Military Spouses Choir and Voices of Service - both featured on America's Got Talent!

 

Plus, stick around for the first ever GRAND ILLUMINATION AFTER PARTY with holiday swing music provided by Good Shot Judy!

It's a kid-centric wonderland with bounce houses, face painting, games, and a fantastic ride on the Holiday Train! And be sure to have your camera ready - you'll never know who may show up wanting a selfie with you! Plus, local nonprofits and area businesses will give away goodies, raffles, and more!

Browse the Charlottesville Holiday Market for tasty treats and holiday crafts; food trucks will serve a variety of food and drinks; and the Charlottesville Ale Trail will provide local craft beer and wine selections.

 

COUNTDOWN TO GRAND ILLUMINATION!

 

Join us at 7:15 p.m. as we count down to the Charlottesville's Grand Illumination of the Holiday Tree, and watch as 20,000 LED lights transform City Hall Plaza into a glowing wonderland! Plus, look out for a special visit from Santa and his North Pole friends!

 

FREE ADMISSION, PARKING & VACCINATIONS

 

Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Complimentary parking is available at Water and Market Street garages after 4 pm.

 

Blue Ridge Health District staff will be on site to provide free COVID-19 vaccinations to those 5 years of age and older. No appointment necessary, and no ID or insurance needed. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a consenting adult.

 

COVID-19 & SECURITY

 

Masks are required for all event staff and strongly recommended for attendees 2 years of age and older while not consuming food or beverages, or if you cannot maintain at least 6-feet of distance between others.

 

Security bag check stations will be set up at event entrances, so please arrive early to avoid delays.
