Music was a tremendously important part of mountain life, including hoedowns with square dances and instrumental music and singing. Can't Feel at Home incorporates folksongs, gospel hymns, bluegrass and dance into the telling of the story of the people displaced from the Blue Ridge Mountains in the 1930s to create Shenandoah National Park. This powerful and moving original work by the late Dr. John T. Glick played to 5 sold-out performances in its premiere in December 2022, and 5 more sold-out performances in its remount in January 2023.
