Blacksmithing, Beginners Class Firetools

Saturday, October 13 - 9:00 AM

Taught at Virginia Institute of Blacksmithing, this beginners class will teach you basic skills and techniques that are transferable to an array of projects. You will make a poker, shovel and two hooks. Tired of the handles on your manufactured fireplace tools falling off? On the ones you will make in class, the handles are part of the parent stock so they can never come loose of fall off. They make great tools for a blacksmith's forge as well if you have it in mind to start your own shop. Shop safety, forge design, fire management, and proper hammering techniques will also be covered in this class. Two day class, twelve hours of instruction, $249.
