The Blue Ridge Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of Richard Baritaud, will offer a concert of string orchestra music at 3pm on Saturday, December 7, in Meade Hall, Christ Episcopal Church in downtown Charlottesville. Suggested donation is $10.
Featured on the program is J.S. Bach's Concerto in D Minor for Oboe and Violin, with oboist Yasuko Kawasaki and violinist Rahima Wagner as soloists. Other music in the concert will include Simple Symphony by Benjamin Britten, Arvo Part's Summa for String Quartet, and music from Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusic and Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings.
The Blue Ridge Chamber Orchestra is a community string orchestra of roughly two dozen musicians. For over 30 years, it has been providing musical opportunities for adult musicians of all ages in the Charlottesville area.
