Artist Talk with Kent Morris

Kent Morris,a Melbourne-based Barkindji artist, will discuss his art career in conjunction with Unvanished, an exhibition of digitally constructed  photographs that explore the relationship between contemporary Indigenous Australian identity and the modern built environment. In doing so, he highlights the resilience of Indigenous people in the face of constantly changing circumstances and their ongoing connections to place amidst urban and suburban development. His work is in numerous major public collections, including the National Gallery of Victoria, Koorie Heritage Trust and the Parliament House Art Collection.This exhibition is sponsored by Australia Council for the Arts and the UVA Parents Fund. Free, but reservations are needed.
