Second Street Gallery is currently accepting submissions for our Season 47 Juried Exhibition, Teeny Tiny Trifecta 3, to be held in the Dové Gallery from September 4 to 25, 2020.
Teeny Tiny Trifecta 3 kicks off the gallery’s 47th Season and will consist of three works of art by each artist in a wide range of styles, techniques, and mediums, all measuring 9 inches or smaller.
Last year’s exhibition featured 85 artists and was a huge success, with over 750 attendees at the opening reception and 1,500 visitors to the exhibition during the month it was on view. Over two-thirds of the work sold to (mostly local) collectors during the course of the exhibition.

This year we are pleased to announce a new feature of the Teeny Tiny Trifecta 3 adjudication process. Selected artists will have the opportunity to be nominated for three awards totaling over $800 in prizes:
The Curator’s Choice (selected by Executive Director Kristen Chiacchia)
The Juror’s Choice (selected by a committee of local arts professionals)
The Audience Choice (selected by the public)
PLEASE NOTE: this will be the only open call for applications to exhibit at Second Street Gallery in 2020. There will be a separate call for artists for a small group show of 5-10 artists that will be held in Dové Gallery in June 2021.
Each artist will have three works of art on display for the exhibition. Artists MUST submit 3 works of art for inclusion in the exhibition.
Each artwork should measure NO GREATER than 9 x 9 inches, INCLUDING frame or matting. Any artwork that exceeds these size requirements will not be included in the installation. Please note that all photography and works on paper must be framed. Sculpture will also be considered, with dimensions 9 x 9 x 9 and under.
Each work of art will be priced at $100.
The artist and Second Street Gallery will split the commission price 50/50 for any works of art sold during the exhibition.
The exhibition is open to all artists, with preference given to artists living in Charlottesville and the state of Virginia. While the exhibition is open to all, please note that delivery of artwork to Second Street Gallery and return of all unsold work is the full responsibility of the artist.
All artwork must be delivered to Second Street Gallery READY FOR INSTALLATION. Second Street Gallery is not able to attach hanging hardware to works of art once received.
Artwork will be available for sale first come, first served at the Invitation Only VIP Preview on Thursday, September 3, 2020. A First Friday Opening Reception will be held on September 4, 2020 and will be open to the general public.
All works that are not sold at the VIP Preview or at First Friday will be available for purchase in person and online, beginning Saturday, September 5, 2020.
After the close of the exhibition, any unsold works of art may be collected during regular gallery hours beginning on September 26, 2020. Any artwork that is not collected by October 6, 2020 becomes the property of Second Street Gallery. Second Street Gallery will not be responsible for the return shipment of any works of art.

3 images, suitable for online publication. Images MUST be the works you intend to exhibit in the show. Images also MUST be individually labeled with artist’s last name, title, date, and orientation. If you participated in Teeny Tiny Trifecta in the past two years, you CANNOT use previously submitted work.
Application fee of $30 ($20 for members of Second Street Gallery). The fee may be paid via check made out to Second Street Gallery or submitted electronically HERE. Checks should be mailed to Second Street Gallery, 115 Second Street SE, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
All applications should be submitted digitally to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications that are sent to any other email address will be discarded. Applications will not be accepted in person or via mail. Any mailed applications will be discarded.
You will be notified via email if your application is incomplete.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION:
The deadline for submission is June 15, 2020. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Artists will be notified of acceptance to the exhibition no later than July 1, 2020.
If you are accepted to participate in the exhibition, you will receive an artwork submission form to complete. Your 3 artworks and accompanying form must be received by Second Street Gallery no later than August 1, 2020. NO EXCEPTIONS.
