A Civil War Weekend

Saturday, September 14 - 9:00 AM

Waynesboro was an unlikely place at the feet of the Blue Ridge Mountains for war to come. However, in September, 1864, and March, 1865, Union General Sheridan brought the Civil War to town.

Join us in commemorating these historic events and the men who made them happen, September 14-15, 2019.

Military reenactors will demonstrate period drill and recreate army life in the field.
Learn how infantrymen fired three rounds per minute.
Experience the ground pounding thunder of a cavalry charge.
Witness firsthand the explosive power of the artillery.

Civil War themed and 21st Century vendors will offer their wares and foodstuffs, while Generals and politicians from the past regale you with their tales.

Learn about Civil War era base ball and town ball, and join in the game at 4pm on Saturday.

Then come back at 7pm Saturday for a two-hour Civil War Dance Social where you can wile away the evening reeling and waltzing with costumed reenactors.

Arrive early on Sunday to participate in our 19th Century style church service in the camps at 9:30 am.

Camps open at 9 am and battles will be fought at 2 pm each day.

Admission Fee: Camp passes are $5 per day for ages 12 and over, or $8 for a Two-Day Pass.

Dance Ticket is $5 for ages 12 and over. Special Dance-inclusive packages are also available.

Passes can be bought at the gate or online via our website shown below.
