3RD Fridays: History of Public Housing

Friday, February 15 - 7:00 PM

Daniel Bluestone on the History of Public Housing in Charlottesville

Dan Bluestone, Professor of Architectural History and Director of the Preservation Studies Program at Boston University, will join us for a fascinating look at the complicated history of housing in Charlottesville: from the effects of the GI Bill and housing at UVA to the story of public housing and Vinegar Hill to “affordable housing” efforts today. This event is free and open to the public.

"Third Fridays" is a series of free, public lectures offered by the Charlottesville Center for History and Culture on the third Friday of each month (September through May, except December), at 7pm. This event will be held at CitySpace on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall. No tickets or reservations are required. Please plan to arrive early as seating is limited.
