"Virginia Opera" Concert & Discussion

Thursday, April 25 - 12:30 PM

What does it take to be an opera singer? Talent, technique, musicality, musicianship, work ethic, ability to learn from criticism, entrepreneurial mind-set, business skills and more!

Join four members of Virginia Opera’s Herndon Foundation Emerging Artists Program for a concert of opera, operetta and Broadway. Following the concert, Cecelia Schieve, Statewide Director of Education and Outreach with Virginia Opera, will lead a discussion with the artists on the concert selections and diverse musical styles, their training to date and in progress and the struggles and joys of a life in the arts.
