Heart-stirring … with its tangy flavors of country, gospel, blues and honky-tonk rock”  —The New York Times

In 1964, a young woman named Violet takes a 900-mile Greyhound bus journey from her home in North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains to Tulsa, Oklahoma—hoping a televangelist preacher will pray away the deep scar on her face. On her way to transform her life, Violet meets a young African-American soldier who knows what it’s like to be an outsider and his Army buddy who is battling demons of his own.

This moving musical is based on The Ugliest Pilgrim by Doris Betts and features show-stopping anthems from Jeanine Tesori, award-winning composer of Fun Home and Caroline, or Change. VIOLET is a Drama Critics’ Circle Award Winner and Tony Award Nominee for Best Revival of a Musical.

VIOLET is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.MTIShows.com
