The Sanctuary Choir with strings, organ and baritone soloist will present Sir Walford Davies’ Ode on the Morning of Christ’s Nativity. The work is a setting of John Milton’s poem of the same name. It is likely that it was a final composition for his composition degree at Cambridge in 1891. There is no known history of a performance or recording of this work, so it is quite possible that this will be a world premiere performance.
