Join Second Street Gallery and Professor and Graduate Director for Art at James Madison University Corinne Diop for a Collaborative "Exquisite Corpse" Workshop on Wednesday, June 26 from 5:30-7:00PM.
Assemble Surrealist-inspired collages using old magazines, junk mail, and any other printed materials you’d like to bring and contribute to the fun! We’ll each select or create a head to paste on paper, fold so it’s no longer visible except the neck, and pass to your neighbor. Using the “neck” as a prompt, they’ll add a torso to the unknown head, fold so their section is only a hint of the torso remains. Pass. Repeat until it’s complete! Once unfolded, we’ll admire the surprises and embellish with further cut outs or additional materials as desired. Bring your phone to scan the creations in case you’d like to continue the process at home.
The workshop is available at $10 SSG members / $15 non-members. This fee covers workshop instruction and access to all workshop materials for the activity.
