The TechnoSonics Festival returns to UVA for its 20th year presenting
TechnoSonics XX: Sound, Object, Place will take place on February 21st and 22nd
and features guests artists Ryoko Akama (Thursday, 2/21 at the Bridge) and Olivia Block (Saturday 2/22 at Old Cabell Hall) . The festival
will showcase these guests and UVA Faculty and Graduate composers over
two concerts: Friday the 21st at 8pm at The Bridge PAI and Saturday the 22nd at 8pm at Old Cabell Hall.
TechnoSonics is a multiday festival that brings cutting-edge composers, performers and music professionals to Charlottesville for a series of concerts, talks and workshops. UVA faculty members in the Composition and Computer Technologies program select and curate a theme for each years festival. The annual TechnoSonics festival provides many opportunities for collaboration between visiting artists, faculty and students as well as concerts, lectures, workshops and installations that are free and open to the public.
Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA's historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda. Parking is available in the central grounds parking garage on Emmet Street, in the C1 parking lot off McCormick Rd, and in the parking lots at the UVA Corner. Handicap parking is available in the small parking lot adjacent to Bryan Hall.
