Join us for a beginner-level, but thrilling ride on a beautiful river, as it pours over rocks, small dams (very small...tiny... :), and under bridges, creating class 1 and 2 rapids. We'll learn how to go in and out of eddys, ferrying, river reading, rapid running, technical paddling through rock gardens, and may be even some basic play paddling moves like surfing. This is what white water kayaking is all about! Our instructor will provide you with as much (or little) assistance as you would like.

Cost
: OASC does not make any money on any of its activities. Many activities are free; for those in which the club Leader incurs an expense to run the event, there is a fee to cover that expense (for example, a hike in the mountains typically costs $2 to $5 so the Leader has gas money to give to the carpool drivers). The participation fee for this particular adventure is is $45, and includes gear (boats, skirts, pfds, helmets, noseplugs, paddles, neoprene booties, dry bag for food or anything else you want to keep dry), boat transportation, ga$ to and from the adventure destination, first aid kit, and first-aid and CPR-certified guide at your service. OASC Membership is required to attend, as we continue to build a community of outdoorsy people with similar interests and values.
