This annual event invites college-bound students of all ages to receive free information about financial aid for college and assistance in completing the federal financial aid form, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The event also will include a financial aid workshop that explains the federal and state financial aid process. Volunteer financial aid experts will assist parents and students of all grade levels as well as adults interested in furthering their education. A representative from PVCC’s Educational Foundation will present an information session on scholarships available for the 2012-2013 academic year. Representatives from Averett College, Bluefield College, Mary Baldwin College, Old Dominion University, PVCC, the University of Virginia and other schools will be available to provide information and answer questions. A drawing for a $100 book scholarship will be held. Also, volunteers from the AARP Tax-Aide program will offer free income tax counseling and preparation.
