The Seven Cherokee Goddesses

Location:

Community-Wide

Event Type(s): Clubs, Education
Organization: Outdoor Adventure Social Club
Description: Native American Philosophy Class
The Seven Goddesses: Empowering Course For Women (4th In Series Of 9)

"Goddesses and gods are a form in which power can be contained and seen, studied, honored and integrated as an aspect of your conscious mind. They are a mirror for the ultimate relationship between you and the great mystery. Goddesses and gods are another part or aspect of your ever-evolving spirit, reflecting your ultimate spiritual potential." Black Bear

From the teacher, Sue Wolf Star:
"This is one of my favorite classes to teach, and it was an amazing teaching to receive. You will learn the history of women according to Black Bear and why women are considered to have an advantage in shamanism. We will spend each week journeying (a shamanic meditation with the drum) to meet each one of the Seven Goddesses, including the Earth Mother, Grandmother Bear, the Corn Mother, White Buffalo Woman and more. Each Goddess teaches us about different aspects of feminine energy from healing, manifesting, connecting to the Great Spirit, balancing our emotions and more. At the end of the class, we will make a "Goddess Bundle" which is a shamanic tool that holds the energy of all the Goddesses. It is possible to just come to some of these classes or "drop in", but if you don’t journey to each Goddess, you can’t make the bundle at the end."
