Description:

Neil Simon's most heartfelt and personal comedy comes to life on stage. Filled with Simon's famous witty dialog and comic characters, yet posessing a heart and tenderness rarely exposed in stage comedies, I Ought To Be In Pictures has become a favorite with critics and audiences alike.
The story begins when 19-year-old Libby Tucker arrives at the doorstep of her Hollywood screenwriter father (Herb) who abandoned his family sixteen years earlier. Libby also wants to be "in pictures," and thinks her dad's connections - long since evaporated - will help her reach her dream. As father and daughter get to know each other for the first time, their ensuing battles are often refereed by Herb's girlfriend, the ever-optimistic Steffy.
This delightful play, directed by Clinton Johnston, features a cast of Sean Michael McCord as Herb, Fox Acorn as Libby and Camilla Curnow as Steffy. Tickets are $13 to $17, and are available by phone at (434) 872-0184 or on-line at PlayOnTheatre.org. Thursday evenings are always "PAY-WHAT-YOU-WILL."
