Description:

The Blue Ridge School community is looking forward to its upcoming production of "Oliver!". The classic Dickens musical is set to open at the school auditorium 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 17th, with two additional performances on Saturday the 18th at 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. Director Jerry King and the players believe that the play will strike a nerve with its timeless themes of social inequity, young people trying to find their place in a sometimes antagonizing world, the corrosive potency of greed and selfishness, domestic abuse and even child trafficking Themes applicable in Victorian England, and yet often still pertinent here in our world today. The audience can expect to leave the show thoroughly entertained, yet also reflective on the world we live, and how we might be able to improve it.
All parents, alumni, family and friends are encouraged to attend what should be a thrilling show. Admission is free, though donations will be collected at each performance to benefit the local homeless/domestic abuse shelter.
