Part of THE BIG READ: The Life and Tumultuous Times of  Zora Neale Hurston by Hilary Holladay.  Hilary Holladay is a professor of English at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, and the author of three books on African American literature, most recently Wild Blessings: The Poetry of Lucille Clifton (LSU Press). This year she is serving as Senior Program Fellow at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities.
