Chopin’s Music in its French and Polish Contexts.
Saturday, September 18, 2010, 9am – noon, Brooks Hall - Free
Panel on Chopin’s Music and its national-historical context in France and Poland. Participants include the renowned scholars Jim Samson, Zofia Chechlinska, and James Parakilas. The panel will be moderated by Robert Geraci (UVa). Just prior to the discussion, coffee and snacks will be served (8:30 - 9am).
This event is part of the Chopin Bicentennial Celebration at the University of Virginia (September 16-19, 2010), which is sponsored by the Page-Barbour Fund, the McIntire Department of Music, the Center for Russian and East European Studies, the Slavic Literatures and Languages Department, the Media Studies Department, and an Arts Enhancement Grant from the Vice-Provost for the Arts.
