CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE's CELEBRATIONS
MUNICIPAL BAND CONCERT - July 2nd
Free Concert of Patriotic Music
7:30 PM at the Pavillion
ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS
• Busses will start at 6:00 p.m. and can be picked up at K-mart or the county office building at McIntire and Preston. We also have a couple handicap accessible buses that can be picked up at Walker Elementary. Busses will stop picking up at 9:15 and will return riders as soon as the Grand Finale is over.
• Food vendors open at 6:00 p.m.
• The show will start at one minute past dark which should be between 9:15 and 9:30 and the rockets should be lighting the sky for around 25 minutes.
FLUVANNA FUN DAYS
July 8th – 11th
Pleasant Grove Park
Highway 53, 1.5 miles from Route 15.
Free Admission and Parking.
- Carnival Rides open from 5pm until 10pm each night.
- Live entertainment Thursday through Saturday!
- Southern Crossroads – Thursday at 7 pm
- Battle of the Bands – Friday at 5:30 pm
- Bennie Dodd Band – Saturday at 7:30 pm
- Fireworks over Palmyra on July 11th!
FREE UNION INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
Patriotic annual parade to be held Sunday July 5th, 2009 at 4 PM.
Parade starts at Free Union Church of the Brethren on Free Union Road and ends at
Free Union Baptist Church on Millington Road.
Community members welcomed to join parade and/or watch!
8th ANNUAL 5-K LAKE MONTICELLO SPIRIT RUN
7AM on Sat., July 4, starting at Bunker Ballfield.
Advance registration requested. Forms at Administration Office or call 589-8263.
LOUISA'S FIREMEN'S PARADE
July 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
Fireworks will take place on July 3rd at the Fairgrounds

This outdoor naturalization ceremony for new citizens on Monticello’s West Lawn is one of America’s most inspiring July 4 events. This year's ceremony features the remarks of U.S. Representative Tom Perriello.

SCOTTSVILLE'S 4TH OF JULY PARADE
10 a.m. in downtown Scottsville.
Fireworks at dusk.
STANARDSVILLE'S 4TH OF JULY PARADE
10:00 a.m.
A wide variety of floats and entertainers from local organizations, individuals and companies. Judges will select the best three entries. The Declaration of Independence will be featured. After the parade there will be entertainment and food in Court Square.

STAUNTON'S TRADITIONAL 4TH OF JULY
July 4th 11 am – 4 pm
Frontier Culture Museum

The costumed interpretive staff will present a traditional early 19th century Independence Day celebration on the Bowman farm from 11:00-4:00.
Events
• Watermelon seed spitting contest
• Traditional American Music on the front porch of the house
• Reading of Declaration of Independence at the American porch followed by a fire works display and music at noon
• Pie Eating Contest starting at 2:00
• Cross Cutting Saw Contest

Good music, an arts and crafts show, family entertainment, fireworks, and lots of great food! Some of the events entertainment will include performances from: All Stars, Surge, Crystal Armentrout, the Magic of Brian Bence, The Level, Bootsie Daniels Band, Mountain Heritage Cloggers, and much more!
