FOR ENTREPRENEURS AND INNOVATORS, students and division heads, Thursday kicks off with an Entrepreneurial Workshop developed by SRI International! The workshop provides a hands-on education and experience for 60 innovators (first come first serve!) and includes break-out sessions of 10. The innovation workshop is not to be missed and you are guaranteed to leave with new tools and ideas, not a lecture!
THURSDAY EVENING:
THE PRIVATE EQUITY PORTION of the program begins after Thursday's workshops with the Keynote & Gala Reception featuring Dr. Krishna Kodukula as our Keynote Speaker who will inspire and engage with his take on Innovation: Nature or Nurture? Dr. Kodukula is a fascinating man and his biography spans continents, ages and endeavors!
FRIDAY EVENTS:
DAY TWO begins at 7:30 am with a registration breakfast and is followed at 8:30 am by the ABF's signature Life FIre! event. You can participate in "Live Fire!" by submitting your own business plan to the screening committee. Six early and seed-stage companies currently in their pre-institutional rounds of financing will present to a panel comprised of the founders or managers of active angel groups in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions:
- DAVID S. ROSE - Chairman, New York Angels (NYC)
- MICHAEL G. CAIN - Chairman and Founder Wilmington Investor Network (NC) and Managing Partner of Emergent Growth Fund II (FL)
- WILLIAM D. HILL - Principal, M.A. Warren Associates, LLC; Member, Angel Investor Forum (CT)
"Live Fire!" will be followed by a Special Luncheon Speaker – Bulent Atalay, Ph.D., Physics Professor, Author, and Artist (author of Math and the Mona Lisa)
Darden Business Concept Competition closes out the afternoon. Innovators with a connection to Darden will present to a panel of angels and VCs to win prizes and a potential opportunity to enter the Darden Incubator. Come, participate, and see if you can predict who the winners will be.
